These batteries are the energy-storage units used in electric three-wheelers (e-rickshaws) which:
Provide the main power supply for the motor (rather than petrol/CNG) when the vehicle is running.
Are typically deep-cycle batteries, because the vehicle will discharge many times during daily usage (lots of start-/stop, full load, long hours). For example, one manufacturer says their e-rickshaw batteries are “deep discharge cyclic application”.
Come in various types: traditional lead-acid tubular (the more common budget type) and newer lithium (Li-ion / LiFePO₄) types (higher upfront cost, but better performance) for e-rickshaw applications. For example:
In India, e-rickshaw battery specifications vary a lot: look at Ah rating (e.g., 120Ah, 140Ah, 150Ah), nominal voltage (12V units in a string → 48V, 60V etc). For example: one brand lists 12 V 120Ah tubular e-rickshaw battery.
